Coaching Bio
I first got involved in coaching through the DfE ‘Women Leading in Education’ initiative. Coaching for me is about rapidly building a relationship with the coachee, using skilled conversation, and asking questions to allow the coachee to come up with their own solutions to bring about change. For sustained improvement, I believe the solution to the dilemma has to come from the coachee with the coach illuminating and being a helping guide.
Coaching Experience
I have been coaching for over 5 years, mainly leaders in the education sector for middle leaders and senior leaders to help build capacity in their teams and support their leadership development. It is very inspiring to coach those who feel they may have ‘lost their way’ to refocus and bring back a direction to their leadership journey. I coach both in person and virtually.
Career Experience
I am currently a middle leader in a Secondary school in the North West and have been teaching for over 20 years. I hold a Masters and PhD in educational leadership and management. Using this experience and knowledge, I can understand the dynamic nature of education and can coach to allow leaders to explore options to help them overcome challenges.
